As many of you may know, Albany will soon be home to a state-of-the-art convention center. Details and plans for the Albany Capital Convention Center have finally been solidified after years of controversy and negotiation, and construction on the 84,000-square-foot building is now underway.
The facility, which is slated to open in the Fall of 2016, is situated in the heart of downtown Albany and will be connected to both the Empire State Plaza Convention Center and the Times Union Center arena. This trio of buildings combined will make up the Capital Complex, creating a meeting and convention space three times bigger than any other in Upstate NY. Continue reading
